Yes, it should be a Core2 Duo CPU, and /proc/cpuinfo indeed reports two logical CPUs. I came across the same hint, but unfortunately, it doesn't apply to my environment as the stock Ubuntu kernels are per default built with SMP support: kr@n428:~ > uname -a Linux n428 2.6.17-10-generic #2 SMP Tue Dec 5 22:28:26 UTC 2006 i686 GNU/Linux I won't really hesitate building my own kernel for that matter (even though I prefer sticking with the one provided by the package repository), but it seems this won't get me out of trouble here... Anyway, thanks a lot for your hints! :) Cheers & best regards, Kristian -- Kristian Rink * http://zimmer428.net * http://flickr.com/photos/z428/ jab: [email protected] * icq: 48874445 * fon: ++49 176 2447 2771 "One dreaming alone, it will be only a dream; many dreaming together is the beginning of a new reality."
