my last attempt was:
# rmmod sdhci mmc_block mmc_core
# setpci -v -s 02:0d.0 4c.b=02
# echo $?
0
# modprobe mmc_block
# modprobe sdhci
# lsmod | grep 'sdhci\|mmc'
sdhci                      11148  0
mmc_block                 4744  0
mmc_core                 11284  2 sdhci,mmc_block
# ls /dev/mm*
ls: cannot access /dev/mm*: No such file or directory

I took out the card and plug it back again --- there is still no light and
no /dev/mm*
