Hi everyone!

I'm having the same difficult here.
After loading the module with ectype=01, here's the results:
# ls /proc/omnibook/
blank display dmi fan fan_policy hotkeys lcd temperature touchpad
version
# dmesg
[...]
[17196768.124000] omnibook: Driver version 2.20060921.
[17196768.124000] omnibook: Forced load with EC type 1.
[17196768.124000] omnibook: LCD backlight turn off at console blanking is
enabled.
[17196768.124000] omnibook: Enabling all hotkeys.
[17196768.124000] omnibook: Assuming that LCD brightness is between 0 and
10,
[17196768.124000] omnibook: please contact
http://sourceforge.net/projects/omnibook to confirm.
[17196768.124000] omnibook: Enabled features: blank display fan fan_policy
hotkeys version dmi lcd temperature touchpad.

It seems ok, right?

When I try to change the brightness, using sudo, occurs an error:
joaoolavo@note:~$ sudo echo 0 > /proc/omnibook/lcd
-bash: /proc/omnibook/lcd: Permission denied

As root, no message is shown, but also nothing happens in the screen!! The
brightness still the same. But with a "cat /proc/omnibook/lcd" I can see
that the command changed this file:
# cat /proc/omnibook/lcd
LCD brightness: 0 (max value: 10)

What would be happening?

Oh... the combinations Fn + [F5 (change monitor), F11 (numeric pad), F12
(make no key works in terminal)] work fine!! But the others and the
multimedia keys don't.

I tried this, but no output is shown. Actually, the output of Fn+Fx is the
same that typing only Fx. =/

Is there any other test that I can do to know what is happening?

I'm using Ubuntu 6.10 and my laptop is a Satellite M115:
# cat /proc/omnibook/dmi
BIOS Vendor: Phoenix Technologies LTD
BIOS Version: 1.20
BIOS Release: 10/11/2006
System Vendor: TOSHIBA
Product Name: Satellite M115
Version: PSMB0U-018007
Serial Number: Y6414528Q
Board Vendor: Intel Corporation
Board Name: Not Applicable

Thanks!!
