For the lcd brightness, use 
the Omnibook patch

  http://sourceforge.net/projects/omke/                                                

     you can set the lcd brightness and turn on/off the touchpad                          
     by echo'ing values to /proc. For example                                             
     echo 3 > /proc/omnibook/lcd                                                          
     will set the brightness to 3  (range 0-7)

The acpi stuff is scattered over a couple of patches and
the kernel acpi stuff, you just have to dig. :-)
