[tlinux-users:08657] hard drive not detected

Hi,

I have installed Gentoo 2007.0 on my Qosmio F45-AV411B on an extended
partition. It came with Vista Ultimate preinstalled in the primary
partition.

Now I'm trying to make the system dual-bootable, but whenever I try to boot
through the Gentoo installer CD, mount my linux partition (/dev/sda6) and
try to install grub on the root drive (/dev/sda6), it shows disk IO error
and /dev/ doesnot show any sda. What should be the problem? Any help will be
highly appreciated.
