Did you check the Security settings on the Router?

Check the following on the Router...
Is Mac Address filter is enabled ?
What Security is on the Router?   WEP? WPA?  WPA2?    etc...

Since the OS sees the NIC, my advice to to disable the security on the
Router  and try to connect.

If the NIC is able to get a IP via DHCP without any security, you will have
to find a combination that the WLAN Driver and Router both supports.
