Try use omnibook driver:
Get it with svn (in Debian, tha package that offer svn is named 
"subversion"):

svn co http://omnibook.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/omnibook/omnibook/trunk

With this action, you get last version of omnibook.

To install, is enough run "make install" (without ./configure and "make")

In my Toshiba M45-S355, Fn+Fx and Multimedia Keys don't work, but I can 
change brightness writing in /proc/omnibook, maybe your laptop modell 
can support more options.
