UltraMonkey capable?

I am looking for a Load Balancer that is written in Java that I can extend. I want to be able to send messages from the Servers back to the Load Balancer which tell the Load Balancer how each Server is doing (i.e. the Server determines that it is doing poorly and wants to inform the Load balancer to throttle back some of the requests, or the Server is doing great and can handle more work (not an All or None response from the LB.)
