Hello,

I have just installed hearbeat as per example
http://www.ultramonkey.org/3/topologies/lb-eg.html

The only change I have made is a VIP of 192.168.1.112 instead of
192.168.6.240 because my private network that I am testing on is 192.168.1.0

The config I have used is

# Global Directives
checktimeout=10
checkinterval=2
autoreload=no
logfile="/var/log/ldirectord.log"
logfile="local0"
quiescent=yes
# Virtual Server for HTTP
virtual=192.168.1.112:80
        fallback=127.0.0.1:80
        real=192.168.7.4:80 masq
        service=http
        scheduler=rr
        #persistent=600
        protocol=tcp
        checktype=negotiate

the syslog messages when I start are

Oct 19 10:52:31 temp ldirectord[1148]: Starting Linux Director
v1.77.2.11 as daemon
Oct 19 10:52:31 temp ldirectord[1150]: Added virtual server:
192.168.1.112:80
Oct 19 10:52:31 temp ldirectord: Starting ldirectord succeeded
Oct 19 10:52:31 temp ldirectord[1150]: Quiescent real server:
192.168.7.4:80 mapped from 192.168.7.4:80 ( x 192.168.1.112:80) (Weight
set to 0)

ipvsadm -L -n  produces

IP Virtual Server version 1.0.8 (size=65536)
Prot LocalAddress:Port Scheduler Flags
  -> RemoteAddress:Port Forward Weight ActiveConn InActConn
TCP  192.168.1.112:80 rr
  -> 192.168.7.4:80               Masq    0      0          0

But when I point my browser at 192.168.1.112 I get a "failed to connect"
message and when I do a port scan, port 80 is not listed as open.

Can someone tell me what I have missed or am doing wrong please?

I'm using CentOS release 3.4 vmlinux-2.4.21-27.0.2.EL

and have loaded the following rpms.
