heartbeat restarts the server

Hello All,
 I have used the director / real server setup using the docs

The setup works fine. However

The problem I am facing is each time heartbeat is rebooted or stopped it
restarts the server, is this an expected behavior if not then how can I stop
heartbeat from restarting the server each time it goes down.

Second the main primary director goes down after every 2 days or so, I have
checked the logs but cannot find anything specific , can you give me any
pointers as what I should be looking at to find out why the primary director
goes down or becomes unresponsive after every 2 days or so.
