(usagi-users 03292) Why can't I use getaddrinfo() with a link-scoped address?

Dear all,

I think this is a general IPv6 question. I hope it is
OK to post it here.

I am trying to use getaddrinfo() to get the link-local
interface info. However, it always complains that:

getaddrinfo: Name or service not known

or

bind(2):failed: Invalid argument:
[fe80::250:fcff:fe2a:b616]:10000

I got the later one when I do not include the prefix
length in the address (i.e., "/64").

However, it seems to work perfectly with a
global-scoped address.

Am I not supposed to use getaddrinfo() with a
link-scoped address?

Thanks very much in advance.

Regards,

Patrick
