I am almost sure that my user code is right.
The case is actually more complicated than that :

I got two SSM channels (S,G1), (S,G2) transmitting on the wire. my two
so1 and so2 sockets join both initially (S,G1)  sequentially but very
rapidly (at  less than < 1sec interval) and then so1 join (S,G2). The
result is that only so1 receives data.
