There could be some > weird error on x86_64 where the problem occurs. traceroute6 from the latest stable USAGI release works fine. I was a bit puzzled by the command options and output. I then dug through the SuSE packages, net-tools, source packages, and finally discovered that the traceroute6 command in SuSE 9.3 is the version made by Olaf Kirch in 2002. I am sorry for my noise here.
