(usagi-users 03705) CVS instructions needed to checkout IPSEC support for 2.4.21 kernel (arm-linux)

Greetings:

I am working with an armv41 device called the "Zipit Wireless Messenger"
running 2.4.21-rmk1; its Hermes-2.5 driver is a binary and the
vendor has refused to release the source claiming that an NDA with
Agere for prerelease code used in the driver bars its release. It is
therefore not possible to upgrade to a newer (2.6.x) kernel.

I need to assemble USAGI IPSec support for this kernel; I would
appreciate instructions on precisely how to CVS checkout the proper
files compatible with 2.4.21-rmk1 on arm.  I have browsed the
CVS tree (cvsweb) so I am aware of the drop of support and the
confusing collection of dated branches.

I would also appreciate any insights on how to properly merge
the package with the kernel sources to avoid conflicts and
what additional patches, if any, are needed to rebuild the
kernel.

Before examining the files in CVS, I attempted to add the af_key
module to the kernel sources by migrating a few existing USAGI
files (net/xfrm.h, pfkeyv2.h, af_key.c) from a Debian 2.4.27
kernel (i386); compiling af_key.c results in many conflicts
between kernel header defines and <linux/...> defines in a
previously correct set of sources (redefines of basic types,
etc).

I absolutely need to get IPSec support on this kernel and
appreciate any help and advice.
