I've got some other games working via tcp/ip (like quake2), but these
are IPX only.

I heard of that. I don't have any Novell support deployed, since I was
only trying the games...
I wrote both on both lists because I used poptop and I found some ipx
related options, though no longer in the config file.
the IPX support I managed to work was entirely pppd's part as far as I
managed.

I'd suggest some more checking on the pptpd.conf options, since I got
segmentation fault when I accidentally wrote
remoteip 10.1.1.192- 207
^^ note the unintended space.
