nvidia trouble

I have f10/kde-4.1.85 on an older laptop.  It was working OK until I tried 
installing nvidia-96xx from rpmfusion.

Now kde crashes on login (see attached).

Other problem is, I don't know how to convince nv driver to restore the 
settings that anaconda has setup.  I'm only getting 1280x1024 (should be 
native 1600x1200 IIRC).
