OK, back in office today. Was reading my mail for awhile, and 
then realized that Kmail wasn't crashing like it was on Sat; the 
only thing different is that I was running some updates on Sat 
night as I left:

I did NOT reboot the machine this morning when I got in; I sat 
down and it was working. Nothing above seems like it should have 
affected Kontact's behavior, but, all seems to be well, now.
