keepalived and Juniper VRRP

We have Juniper equipment that uses VRRP for HA; however, our keepalived is
setup on some other devices and it has authentication setup between them.
When we implemented VRRP for our Juniper equipment the other devices using
keepalived went completely nuts showing in /var/log/syslog that it was
receiving a better priority and was forcing a reelection. If the
authentication is setup WHY does VRRP multicasts from my Junipers interfere
with keepalived when the Junipers have no authentication setup in vrrp?
