I suppose the real question here is: does each virtual IP address get
its own MAC address?
So if the master box has a native IP address of 192.168.1.1 and a VIP of
192.168.1.2 does the network card end up with three MAC addresses:
1. is the native MAC address which 192.168.1.1 would normally use.
2. a MAC address for 192.168.1.2 which would move between the master
and backup as needed.
3. a broadcast MAC address for communicating the VRRP status.
Or does the traffic get redirected solely by the ARP messages?
The system has worked fine for us, except in this one high traffic
situation where it appears that the ARP packet was squashed.
