Make last available node master

Hi Folks,

I have two gateways mirroring a VIP over VRRP. This works fine as expected. My servers are located in a DC where I have no control over the routers routing the traffic to my gateways. My provider needs me to register a MAC where the traffic should end up.

In my current setup this works fine. When the master fails the backup takes over. If the master becomes available again then the master takes over again. When the master is up first and the backup becomes available a few seconds later though my provider sends all traffic to the backup and not the master.

My question: Is there a way (by adapting keepalived.conf) to make sure that the node which is up last automatically becomes master?

Thanks & BR

Christoph
