From previous discussions on this list I understood the locking to be only for protection against concurrent user access. This is how I wrote the FAQ entry that is now in the docs. From this new-to-me doc it seems that locking is to also prevent header corruption. I am surprised no one pointed this out in discussions so there is a chance I may be misunderstanding. Specifically, this was in a discussion about --disable-locks. Am I correct in stating: Using --disable-locks I risk * concurrent user access problems * header corruption -- JT --00000000000058f70c05cca93b28 Content-Type: text/html; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <div dir=3D"ltr">While searching through the source code I came upon docs/L= UKS-locking.txt.=C2=A0=C2=A0<div><br><div>From previous discussions on this= list I understood the locking to be only for protection against concurrent= user access.=C2=A0 This is how I wrote the FAQ entry that is now in the do= cs.</div><div><br></div><div>From this new-to-me doc it seems that locking = is to also prevent header corruption.=C2=A0 I am surprised no one pointed t= his out in discussions so there is a chance I may be misunderstanding.</div= ><div><br></div><div>Specifically, this was in a discussion about --disable= -locks.=C2=A0 Am I correct in stating:</div><div><br></div><div>Using --dis= able-locks I risk</div><div>* concurrent user access problems</div><div>*= =C2=A0 header corruption<br clear=3D"all"><div><br></div>-- <br><div dir=3D= "ltr" class=3D"gmail_signature" data-smartmail=3D"gmail_signature">JT</div>= </div></div></div> --00000000000058f70c05cca93b28-- --===============5589964996799170477== Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline _______________________________________________ dm-crypt mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected] --===============5589964996799170477==--
