That seems to have done the trick! I still have no luck getting an
address with DHCP, but editing that file and setting the IP address
staticly has accomplished my goal of getting my laptop wireless. I do
use MAC filtering, but the card is registered and I have not had a need
to turn off that protection.

And now (finally) I have a working linux wireless configuration that I
can refer to if things get funky in future!

In researching this problem, I ran across the idea that only one
interface per computer may be a DHCP client. Could that be my issue? Or
is this possibly a problem with dhclient? I shall try not having eth0
activated at startup and see if eth1 can get me a dynamic address.

Is it ok to use kWiFi manager to set WEP keys for driverloader? or
should I use iwconfig or another tool?
