Ok, that's my fault for not reading the man
page FULLY.   And after i saw the last
email i did a "strings evltc" and saw the
hardcoded path of /lib/cpp and then knew 
the problem.  Thanks Jim.  I don't think
any enhancement is required - as you mention,
the man page is clear.  Just another case
of "Pilot error" ...  :)
