[evlog-dev] Beginner to Evlog

hi friends

I am beginner to Evlog. I'm going through the information in sourceForge.net.
My system is 


Linux 2.4.22-xx i686

Can i use evlog version 1.6.

if yes, can you help in giving tips to proceed with.
if no, what should i do to incorporate evlog in my system.
