Brian, thank you for the pointer. I gave LiS 2.18 a try and got through a native compile fine, except for some changes (probably harmless for me). I ifdef'd the pci dma dac functions out. I haven't tried 2.18.1 yet, so do not know the outcome. I also had to export some additional kernel symbols from my linux src tree. So far none of the changes have bitten me.
