Hi,

I just made a 0.6.0pre1 release of LTTng for the 2.6.17 kernels. It uses the new
markers mechanism and attaches to it with probes.

In its current state, only two events in the FS (filesystem) probe are defined.
The result of a trace would be that you have only the "core" events plus the 2
events from the probe (if its module is loaded : modprobe ltt-probe-fs before
taking the trace).

I would like you to test it on various architectures (and check for warnings) to
see if I broke something when porting the LTTng instrumentation to markers.

My next step is to modify the XML facilities to match the markers (some
modifications has been done) and to create per facility probes. Eventually, the
probes will be generated automatically, but for a first step, I generate them
manually.

To get this pre-release :

git clone git://ltt.openrapids.net/linux-2.6-lttng.git linux-2.6-lttng

Thanks,

Mathieu
