Yes, I agree with Mathieu. I have used LTTng with 2.6.16 kernels and it
works well on Sibyte dual core SWARM

It describes the evolution of LTTng. I would suggest to search for
"mips", which indicates the first version which supports it and the
fixes that follows.

I would suggest LTTng 0.5.69 and the compatible versions of the other
packages.
