Here is the compatibility list for your LTTng version :

http://ltt.polymtl.ca > LTTng + LTTV versions compatibility

http://ltt.polymtl.ca/svn/ltt/branches/poly/doc/developer/lttng-lttv-compatibility.html

In your case :

LTTV LTTng LTT-control LTTng userspace tracer Genevent

0.8.82 0.9.0 0.37 0.29 0.34

Trace Major.Minor Kernels-architectures

not ok. Either install ltt-usertrace-0.29 or install the newer
compatible versions of the other packages. The second option would
require you to upgrade your kernel to 2.6.21 (with LTTng 0.9.5) or to
do a backport of LTTng to Linux 2.6.20.

not ok. Install ltt-control 0.37 if you plan to use LTTng 0.9.0.

Please proceed to the version changes and come back with the result.

What architecture are you running on ? x86 ? x86 64 bits ?
