Yes, but the toolchain in this aspect is probably outdated. I can add
the i386 part statically but right now it is controlled by the $ARCH
variable which IMHO is the correct way.

These are different protocols and do not cover https, why not just build
the version file to be used to populate the URL correctly and forget
about duplicating the whole package stuff?
