about versioning:

     The current proposed translation is:
     
     5.2.8 -> 52800
     6.0.0 -> 60000
     6.0.0-minorfix -> 60001
     6.0.1-beta1 -> 60010
     6.0.1-rc-1 -> 60020
     6.0.1 -> 60100
     6.0.1-minorfix -> 60101
     6.0.2-beta1 -> 60110

this limits versioning to max 10 releases per branch. I think that it'll be better to use 2 digits per release (for ex., 5020800).
