Compiling LEAF e.g. buildtool

Hi Folks

So I have compiled the complete suite on my rather sluggish notebook
successfully. The problem I see is that we are building the toolchain
for every _target_ architecture, which I believe is nonsense, especially
as it takes about 6 hours to compile just the toolchain on my mobile
gear. I would like to suggest to think hard about this, as it is IMHO a
real waste of time and cycles.

Is there a way to unchain the toolchain from the rest of the packages,
if not, why?
