Thanks I can see there is /dev/sda1

[    5.225664]  sda: sda1

But I don't know if the device node got registered in the /dev directory 
as /init starts 2 seconds earlier.

Unfortunately we do not write to dmesg but to the console. So what is 
interesting is the diagnostic there. Do you have a terminal emulator 
with a large buffer like putty?
