I have seen that, I would guess this is some filter issue with your 
uplink mail server.


I'd hate to see DNSMASQ replaced, but I understand the

I get your point, I also understand that probably a majority of the 
users can live with what they got. I just don't like software that does 
not perform or perfoms marginally.

I just would like to see this issue addressed and not just patched by 
another piece of software which might just as well fail.

Great, what hardware are you running it on? My gut feeling is just that 
dnsmasq has become bloatware and uses lots of resources. You may not 
feel it on a sufficienly big machine. To tell the truth I would be OK 
with dnsmasq just telling me 'No sir, you don't have enough memory for 
me, I refuse to run'

My configuration(s) are using mostly default valus, especially on the 
dhcp options. And I hope those would work.

You may have a point in the dhcp authoritative parameter as this 
shortens the time to wait for a reply.
