syslog-ng years ago added glib libraries s requirement, which is a huge
package and uses a lot of RAM just to have a syslog daemon.
So the decision was either to stick with an outdated and unmaintained
version of syslog-ng, wasting RAM or to move to something else...

As you see we decided for option 3.
