I have a Soekris 4521 with 2 ether ports and 1 nl-2511 prism based card. I want to set this up with the ether port going to my main network, servers and Internet. The wireless will be in ad-hoc mode to talk to the remote building setup. The other wireless port will be used later for possible AP or other remote location. The remote building setup will be a 4511 with 2 ehter ports and 1 nl-2511 prism based card. This wireless card will be in ad-hoc mode to talk back to the main unit above. Same essid. The main network is setup with the following: 192.168.25.0/24. My gateway to the Internet is 192.168.25.254. The ether0 port on the 4521 is 192.168.25.250/24. I want to use the same addressing in the remote building. 192.168.25.251 for 4511 and 192.168.25.101 and 102 for workstations. My questions: Do I need to bridge the either0 port with the wireless port on both ends?? Do I need to turn on any routing to enable the sides to talk to each other?? What would the default gateway need to be set at on both ends.. I am assuming the same as what my main router is..192.168.25.254?? I have been messing with this for awhile and can get a wonderful AP created and with the antenna I am using I am able to travel down the street and still pick up the AP and surf but this doesn't get it in the building.
