The Linux From Scratch community is pleased to announce the release of
LFS Version 12.4, LFS Version 12.4 (systemd), BLFS Version 12.4, and
BLFS Version 12.4 (systemd).

This release is a major update to both LFS and BLFS.

The LFS release includes updates to binutils-2.45, gcc-15.2, and glibc-2.42.  In 
total, 49 packages were updated since the last release and extensive updates to the
text have been made throughout the book to improve readability. The Linux kernel has 
also been updated to version 6.15.1.

Overall there have been over 130 commits to LFS since the previous stable version of 
the book. Packages that have security updates include: glibc, coreutils, expat, Perl, 
Python, systemd, xz, and vim.  See

In BLFS new packages that were added include: roman-numerals-py (Python module), 
Clone::PP (Perl Module), and fast_float.

The following packages have been removed: libsoup2, libgdata, uhttpmock, and AbiWord.

Overall there were 843 tickets closed via more than 1300 commits made to BLFS.
