yes, the LFS build went fine, and the scripts in lfs-commands use sudo appropriately.
The build process continues with BLFS tools (by changing to /blfs_root/work and invoking the Makefile there) and I see lots of "permission denied" in the build log files.

I'm still not sure about the decision of not using root for building software.
