This is an automated email from the git hooks/post-receive script. git pushed a commit to branch plabs/lfs-user in repository jhalfs. commit 8affcaddf2494d18e905c369166fe9603c7e9f1d Author: Pierre Labastie <[email protected]> AuthorDate: Tue Dec 31 10:25:06 2024 +0100 New management of luser and lgroup The new management is the following: - the jhalfs user should choose a user name for the user running commands in chapter 5 and 6 - this user is created with chapter 4 instructions, and removed before entering chroot We don't need to save an existing user nor to restore it after the jhalfs run, so that we remove the {save,restore}-luser targets. We introduce a check-luser target that just verifies that the chosen name does not exist, and errors out if it exists. We introduce a remove-luser target, that silently removes the temporary user, and is called before entering chroot --- LFS/master.sh | 50 ++++++++++---------------------------------------- 1 file changed, 10 insertions(+), 40 deletions(-) diff --git a/LFS/master.sh b/LFS/master.sh index c904c6d..8a79b7c 100644 --- a/LFS/master.sh +++ b/LFS/master.sh @@ -341,7 +341,6 @@ fi sudo mv os-release \$(MOUNT_PT)/etc && \\ sudo chown root:root \$(MOUNT_PT)/etc/os-release @\$(call echo_finished,$VERSION) - @sudo make restore-luser ck_UID: @if [ \`id -u\` = "0" ]; then \\ @@ -363,7 +362,7 @@ ck_terminal: mk_SETUP: @\$(call echo_SU_request) - @sudo make save-luser + @sudo make check-luser @sudo make BREAKPOINT=\$(BREAKPOINT) SETUP @touch \$@ @@ -378,6 +377,7 @@ mk_SUDO: mk_LUSER @touch \$@ mk_CHROOT: mk_SUDO devices + @sudo make remove-luser @\$(call echo_CHROOT_request) @( sudo \$(CHROOT1) -c "cd \$(SCRIPT_ROOT) && make BREAKPOINT=\$(BREAKPOINT) CHROOT") @touch \$@ @@ -485,46 +485,16 @@ create-sbu_du-report: mk_BOOT fi @touch \$@ -save-luser: - @\$(call echo_message, Building) +check-luser: @if grep -q '^\$(LUSER):' /etc/passwd; then \\ - if grep -q '^\$(LUSER)xxx:' /etc/passwd; then \\ - userdel -r \$(LUSER)xxx; \\ - groupdel \$(LGROUP)xxx; \\ - fi; \\ - rm -rf \$(LUSER_HOME)xxx; \\ - usermod -d \$(LUSER_HOME)xxx -m \$(LUSER); \\ - usermod -l \$(LUSER)xxx \$(LUSER); \\ - groupmod -n \$(LGROUP)xxx \$(LGROUP); \\ - touch luser-id; \\ - echo User \$(LUSER) exists:; \\ - echo it has been renamed to \$(LUSER)xxx and its home; \\ - echo has been moved to \$(LUSER_HOME)xxx.; \\ - echo It will be recreated with book instructions.; \\ - else \\ - rm -f luser-id; \\ - echo User \$(LUSER) does not exist; \\ - echo It will be created with book instructions.; \\ - fi - @\$(call housekeeping) - -restore-luser: - @if [ -f luser-id ]; then \\ - rm luser-id; \\ - echo \$(RED) " W A R N I N G " \$(BOLD); \\ - echo A new "\$(LUSER)" user has been created during the build.; \\ - echo The original "\$(LUSER)" user has been renamed to; \\ - echo \$(LUSER)xxx, and its home moved to \$(LUSER_HOME)xxx.; \\ - echo Be sure to rename it back if you want to preserve the; \\ - echo original content.
