This is a multi-part message in MIME format... ------------=_1771404269-16563-8529 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit This is an automated email from the git hooks/post-receive script. git pushed a commit to branch trunk in repository jhalfs. commit c8f728f0c6d16a6310420ee8c360d05d7c9ac552 Author: Pierre Labastie <[email protected]> AuthorDate: Tue Feb 17 15:50:49 2026 +0100 Keep the as_root function in make_book.xsl A recent change in the instructions for Xorg libraries makes use of the do_install function, which is of the form: do_install() { as_root make install; } But each time we see "as_root" we generate a para, containing: "as the &root; user" This cannot work inside a function, of course. So for now, let us just keep the as_root function. Note that there is only one case where the instuctions must be changed respective to what is in the book (kapidox in kf6). But it is a BLFS book problem... Note that the as_root function itself will be customized in process-install.xsl --- BLFS/xsl/make_book.xsl | 54 ++++++++++++++++++++------------------------------ 1 file changed, 21 insertions(+), 33 deletions(-) diff --git a/BLFS/xsl/make_book.xsl b/BLFS/xsl/make_book.xsl index b29a678..1cee8f2 100644 --- a/BLFS/xsl/make_book.xsl +++ b/BLFS/xsl/make_book.xsl @@ -131,8 +131,8 @@ followed by -<digit> to make sure we have the right package, but since we'll have to do that test anyway later because there are also cases where packages start - the same in one cat command, we'll have to do the test - later nayway. --> + the same in one cat command, let's not do complicate things + here. --> <xsl:apply-templates select="//sect1[(contains(@id,'xorg7') or contains(@id,'frameworks') or @@ -629,6 +629,18 @@ <sect2 role="installation"> <title>Installation of <xsl:value-of select="$package"/></title> + <para> + First define a function that can be customized for package + management: + </para> + + <screen> + <userinput> + <xsl:copy-of select=".//userinput[contains(text(), + 'as_root()')]/text()"/> + </userinput> + </screen> + <para> Install <application><xsl:value-of select="$package"/></application> by running the following commands: @@ -641,19 +653,9 @@ <xsl:text> name=$(echo $packagedir | sed 's/-[[:digit:]].*//') </xsl:text> - <xsl:value-of select="substring-before($install-instructions, - 'as_root')"/> + <xsl:copy-of select="$install-instructions"/> </userinput></screen> - <para> - Now as the <systemitem class="username">root</systemitem> user: - </para> - <screen role='root'> - <userinput><xsl:value-of select="substring-after( - $install-instructions, - 'as_root')"/> - </userinput> - </screen> </sect2> </xsl:element><!-- sect1 --> </xsl:if> @@ -722,14 +724,13 @@ name=$(echo $packagedir | sed 's/-[[:digit:]].*//') </xsl:template> <xsl:template name="inst-instr"> - <!-- This template is necessary because of the "libpciaccess" and - "libxkbfile" cases in Xorg and the "kapidox" case in kf6: + <!-- This template is necessary because of the "kapidox" case in kf6: Normally, the general instructions extract the package and change to the extracted dir for running the installation instructions.
