Not a native speaker either, but to me the current wording seems to be correct. It's also somewhat difficult to understand, however. So I side with Jamenson and suggest to use a slightly tweaked version of his wording: "...follow the Note about binary-only applications in libxcrypt in LFS to install ABI version 1 of the crypt library."
