The two machines I have BLFS on (one is >Intel i7 and only has NVidia 2070 card for graphics, the other AMD Ryzen 5 laptop with integrated Radeon Rembrandt and discrete >NVidia 2050 card) both show no brightness slider. There also appears to be a gnome extension at https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/4652 >adjust->display-brightness/ but I have not tried it. I have also found information that implies it will not show up on machines where >the kernel >has no way to control your monitor brightness. That is two possible reasons why it doesn't show up on my Intel machine. Yes mine is a laptop, never had issues in the past, but this one has the AMD cpu. Been through the kernel many times. Even compared to Ubuntu setup can't find the answer. I've had dash to dock from the end of the BLFS install. No joy there. Even installed ddcutils then found it was useless in this instance.
