 The error I see is  `/usr/lib/grub/i386-pc/kernel.img' is miscompiled: its
 start address is 0x9074 instead of 0x9000: ld.gold bug?

 According to arch, it is due to this commit:
 https://cgit.git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/grub.git/commit/?id=1a5417f39a0ccefcdd5440f2a67f84d2d2e26960

 They revert this commit, but then they have to regenerate configure, which
 in turn requires the gnulib package.

 I've found that adding `ax_cv_check_ldflags___Wl___image_base_0x400000=no`
 to the configure command cures the error (it disables the use of --image-
 base).

 Before fixing the book, I'd like to know whether I am the only one to see
 this. Needs a computer with legacy BIOS (or a VM).
