Kernel Config - DEBUG_STACK_USAGE & DEBUG_STACKOVERFLOW

Hello everyone. I am new to LFS and this list. Here is my issue:

I have built 2 LFS 7.9-systemd systems (32 & 64 bit) on USB flash drives. I
configured the kernel using "make defconfig", then "make menuconfig" to make
sure the options listed in the book are enabled or disabled. On each build,
the kernel configuration options DEBUG_STACK_USAGE and DEBUG_STACKOVERFLOW
defaulted to being on. This causes messages to appear on the console from
time to time along the lines of "kworker/dying  max stack depth used  12192
remaining" (not an exact quote). 

I have turned the options off in the kernel to prevent the messages, but I
would like to understand what is going on, and whether or not I am just
masking a problem that needs to be addressed. According to the message I
cited, there is 12192 bytes remaining. Isn't that plenty?
