Hi Armin,

back in February I bought a 2500U laptop.  At that time, neither
SystemRescueCD (stick, not CD ) nor ubuntu could boot it.  But
Manjaro (at that time, a pre- Live image) booted it and allowed me to
begin.  My impression was that I could probably have used Fedora (29
at that time), but I wasm't quite sure how (using a Live image I was
unsure how to become root to do a real install).  At that time the
Manbjaro kernel was 4.19 and fedora claimed to be 4.18, so I don't
think that 5.0 or later is essential.

Having said that, apparently still problems with some Raven Ridge
APUs at phoronix.

Trying various other distros before that, either kernel panics while
booting, or hangs (Arch, and SystemRescueCD which is now based on
Arch, were hanging waiting for some systemd LVM service to start,
ubuntu never managed to boot).

In fact, I cheated and used Manjaro to copy over binaries from
another LFS machine (also a Ryzen, because I've been using
march=native in my builds) and used that to bring up LFS.

Unfortnately, mine is still very much "work in progress", but
running fairly reliably with {B,L}FS-8.4 and security upgrades -
currently using a 5.1.12 kernel but still with too many modules and
too many things that I ought to fix (e.g. wifi, laptop mode, and the
<expletive-deleted> UEFI boot which is still using Manjaro's grub  ;)
