Someone could start grepping the LFS source for the same functions libsafe checks for, and report the method and results. From that we can start to build a bug list. There are a few bugs already with propolice in binutils and gcc, these should only need a small patch each to fix. Same goes for the libsafe bug in gcc. And another bug (build failure) with glibc built on a host system with pax that needs investigating. There is an autoconfig script available from the propolice ibm homepage, it would help create a 'smarter' patch that will detect if -fstack-protector works, and take proper actions. A patch like this might be considered by gnu or hjl to add to the main feed. -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-security FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/faq/ Unsubscribe: See the above information page
