Doing it this way will mean 2 things in my view- 1) Those who "feel"
ready to accomplish this but are not will pester the LFS support
structure and not us. All the appropriate RTFM's and gotcha's that
are routinely handed out in those support lists will be done there.
Hopefully this will limit the support we need to provide to {S,H}LFS
specific issues. 2) There will be a known starting point- we don't have
to worry about some user coming from some ancient gcc/egcs and glibc
base distro. The will be coming from a known point, probably LFS 5.0+.

The basis or focus will be completely different. LFS shows how to set up
a basic system install. {S,H}LFS will show how to make a system which is
intended to be secure- Most issues covered in LFS are _assumed_ to be
known, and the educational/explanatory text contains the most
significant contribution of the book. For most parts, I find some
packages are simple configure/make/make install dance in the (B)LFS
book, but that is still needed, because I know the method presented
_works_, and saves me hours of web searching and reading through tons
of documentation- which would be promptly forgotten as it is package
specific after I had solved it. And the learning focus is maintained
throughout. So even if the commands may be replicated with only CFLAGS
modifications, the user will know that it _works_.
