Is it worth setting a RAMDISK with tmpfs?

If I have some "extra memory" -- say 1 GB --, is it worth mounting a
RAMDISK of "tmpfs" to "$LFS/sources/"? And, keeping the original
"$LFS/sources/" into "$LFS/sources1/"?

If yes, what will be the proper way to set "chroot" in chapter 7?
