It's correct.  I'm now completely puzzled why the file
/mnt/lfs/usr/lib/libstdc++.so ever exists.

I suggest to start over and closely monitor this path to see if it'll
appear too early again.  It should only appear after installing
libstdc++ in chapter 5.
