I have built db 5.3 on aarch64 when I was building/using LFS a few years
ago. I have since abandoned x86_64 platform and I am using the ARM
platform. I also have abandoned LFS and use Archlinuxarm.
I was using RPM package manager and then when to Archlinux pacman.
ABC (Arch Build System) allows you to build in a clean chroot so the
packages that you build does not pickup unintended dependencies.
At 71 years old, keeping my LFS systems became too much work.

Maybe I can send you a tar archive of my last build under pacman (ABS)?
