For 99% of the packages in LFS/BLFS there is no difference.  The other 
1% is where the problem is.

Fixed it for you boss ;)

The SysV build was sacrificed because Gnome now requires parts of 
systemd to run. I still don't agree with it, but it is what it is. The 
body was chopped in half because of a broken hand.

The book can still be built for SysV but it won't be "officially" 
supported. For LFS-13.0-rc1 just clone the git repo and:
   $ git switch 13.0-rc1
   $ make REV="sysv"

As an editor, I will NOT switch to systemd. Yes I do build both but I 
will always use a SysV based init system on my main box.
